Microchipping

Micro Chipping is becoming more and more popular as a means to permanently identify animals – including horses. Developed by a veterinarian, microchips are a safe and effective way to identify your animals. They are invaluable in recovering horses from separation-be it from a natural disaster, theft, to wandering off on their own. It is the fastest way to reunite horses with the owner, as well as proof of ownership.

All Humane Society groups, slaughterhouses, most animal clinics-small and large-have microchip scanners which read the chip and help to identify the horse and its owner. These are the same scanners used on dogs and cats. The microchips are placed on the left side of the neck and is a quick procedure. It is no more painful than a vaccine.

Professional Equine uses AVID microchips. We can also microchip other types of pets as well: dogs, cats, goats, llamas, alpacas-you name it! See here for more information:www.avidequineid.com
